By learning new tactics and new ways to avoid danger and even death, your adventure becomes completely under your control. Across your journey you will encounter a multitude of mages and characters which can help you heal the chaos. ![]() With the gorgeous world of Vaiya falling to chaos (not much of a surprise story-wise in this genre of game), Soli is one of the only survivors. Not only are these skills used for puzzle solving, but they are also very important when it comes to evading the infected monsters now littering the map. Which is nice after being so used to the classic approach of dodge enemies, unlock doors AKA the majority of puzzle platform games. This feature got me thinking so incredibly hard about how to solve puzzles. I found the concept of being able to generate these multiverse portals completely enthralling. Soli is not only able to conjure up portals to a huge spectrum of dimensions, but is able to utilize their abilities to suit his journey. But fortunately, not just the world you are initially introduced to. A young, incredibly powerful mage with the world at their fingertips. Let’s take a look to see what all the fuss is about.ģ) Audio and Graphics: The Sweet Sounds of Exploration Story: A World Beyond Our Own So by opening up this portal into the unknown, I am more than thrilled to introduce you to the plentiful world of Unbound. I fell in love with Unbound: Worlds Apart, from the moment it began. There’s something compelling about this game, from the moment you pick it up to several hours later when you finally decide to put it down without realising the time. Which I believe Unbound: Worlds Apart definitely provides. Something where people will see a trailer and feel just as excited to play as those did when Castlevania was released in 1986. It’s important to produce something which stands out, but as more developers are working hard to fit these niches – categories are running dry. Either way, I found myself dying to know what is happening, and why.īut in an industry where every second game released is that of a metroidvania, it’s difficult to create something fresh off the press. ![]() Maybe it’s due to our hooded protagonist, or possibly the way the world falls apart within the introductory animation. Even before the game is properly introduced there is an obvious weight behind the story. Following a similar appearance to fellow puzzle platformers, like Hollow Knight or Ender Lilies, Worlds Apart has a melancholic feel to it.
